Meet Bobby.
Bobby is a Partner at BAMA and his days are filled with both buy-side and sell-side activities. He oversees our buy-side practice and is heavily involved in uncovering target companies meeting the specific criteria of our buyer clients. On the flip side, if he's working on a sell-side engagement, he's on the phone talking to prospective buyers and negotiating terms of a great transaction.
Deep Insights:
What do you love most about selling a business?
Rolling my sleeves up and digging into the value drivers and value dingers of the specific business and making the case around the merits of the investment. It’s amazing how much you learn about business in general and the nuances that make one more successful than the other.
?What is the most rewarding project you've worked on? Why?
Probably the sale of my parent’s HVAC business. Working with my parents in a professional setting, on a once-in-a-lifetime event, brought us closer together. It was great to see my folks benefit from the hard work they’ve poured into their business over the past 30 years.
If you were to give yourself a work nickname, what would it be?
ROCK. I'm composed and even-keeled when emotions are running high.
Rapid Fire:
Prior to BAMA: Working on my MBA at UNC-Charlotte
Strongest Sense: Taste - I can't prove it's my strongest, but it's my favorite :)
Ideal Saturday: Breakfast in bed, late morning run, afternoon with friends, dinner with my wife
Must-Have Splurge: Travel/Vacation
Biggest Fear: FOMO (fear of missing out) - this started as a young kid when my parents put me to bed before my sisters and it sticks to this day. I always need to be part of the action.
